Welcome to Klee's Out On A Limb Acres Home Page
Who we are: We are a Southeast Wisconsin Orchard located on the Racine/Milwaukee border. We grow Apples, Pears, and Berries for seasonal sale to the public at our roadside stand. What we have to offer: Many varieties of modern and heirloom Apples and Pears grown using the latest Integrated Pest Management Practices (IPM for short). We also grow Currants, Gooseberries, Red Raspberries, Blackberries, and Rhubarb. The fruit we offer is grown and sold right here at our Orchard. We do not purchase fruit from other growers. We do this so that we can offer you the freshest, highest quality fruit that we can produce. What is happening right now 07/16/08 We have had a lot of positive feedback about the new restroom from customers that have visited to pick their own Currants and Gooseberries. We want to say Thank You for your comments and we hope you enjoy your berries! Rhubarb (Green) is starting to slow down. Smaller quantities are still available now Gooseberries are ready for harvest. To avoid anyone being disappointed. Please call to verify the berries you want are available. 262-835-7728 Red, White. and Champagne Currants are at their peak. It will still be a little longer before the Black Currants are ripe. There is a nice apple crop on the trees right now, If they continue to do well we will start picking early varieties in August. The pear crop is light this season. We can hardly wait for the new trees to start producing. Blackberries and Red Raspberries will be ready soon. Their season runs until we get a heavy frost. For our customers convenience, we have a portable restroom. We also have bottled water for sale. A reminder...We do not offer pick your own apples or pears. All our apples and pears are pre-picked! ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... What is coming to the orchard Early season Red Raspberries. Prelude has been planted spring of 2008 and are doing well. They should be ready for 2009. ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... Possible additions to the orchard We are looking into opening up the orchard for tours ( school or group), walks through the orchard, and possibly picnics in the orchard. If this comes about it will most likely be in the fall of 2009 at the earliest. Shipping our products. With the warm weather we have been having and the trees we planted coming into bearing , we have started looking at refrigeration units. This will allow us to offer your favorite apples for a longer time. If you have a suggestion as to what you would like to see us offer, please send an e-mail. .......................................................................................................................................................................................................
